Hwei, the New League of Legends Champion, Requires an Official Cheat Sheet for His Complex Combos
Riot Games recently revealed the newest champion for League of Legends, Hwei, during the 2023 Worlds Championship finals on Nov. 19. However, his abilities proved to be too complex for players to fully grasp. As a result, Riot Games developers were forced to release an official ability cheat sheet to help players understand and utilize Hwei’s combos effectively.
Hwei is set to join the mid-lane champion roster on Nov. 20 and will be available for play on the League PBE servers. His official debut will take place on Dec. 6 with the arrival of Patch 13.24. While the arrival of a new champion is exciting, it is important to note that Hwei’s abilities present a potential challenge for players.
Unlike other champions, Hwei has three basic abilities: Q, W, and E. The intriguing aspect is that these abilities can be combined with each other to form a “combo” ability. This concept is unique to League of Legends. However, what makes Hwei particularly challenging to master is that his abilities fall into distinct categories or subjects: Disaster (red/orange in color), Serenity (blue), and Torment (purple).
Each combination of abilities yields a different result depending on the subject chosen. For example, performing the combo Q+Q within the Disaster subject will grant the player the ability “Devastating Fire: Burst Damage.” On the other hand, performing the same Q+Q combo within the Torment subject will provide the ability “Grim Visage: Disengage Flee.”
With the multitude of abilities and combos to remember, players will need to familiarize themselves with Hwei’s base kit and the nine different combos. To aid them in this process, Riot Games released a cheat sheet to serve as a valuable resource.
As the release date approaches, players may find themselves apprehensive about navigating and executing Hwei’s abilities effectively. However, it is vital to remember that practice makes perfect.
