Huni showcases his Yasuo in Echo Fox’s victory against 100 Thieves

Echo Fox Dominates NA LCS with Yasuo

In their recent victory over 100 Thieves in the North American League of Legends Championship Series, Echo Fox surprised everyone with their use of the top lane Yasuo.

Echo Fox’s top laner, Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, is known for his love of playing Yasuo as a counter to Gnar, regardless of the current meta. Even in his first World Championship final, Huni brought out his Gnar counter pick despite his former team, SK Telecom T1, being down one game.

In a post-match interview with NA LCS host Ovilee May, Huni revealed, “We practiced a lot for Yasuo.” With Gnar’s popularity in the current meta, it’s no surprise that Huni honed his Yasuo skills for a moment like this.

While 100 Thieves focused on shutting down Huni’s Yasuo in the top lane, it didn’t faze him. As long as the rest of his team performed well, Huni knew he could scale and make a comeback. Luckily, his mid laner was doing exceptionally well.

Despite facing some challenges in the top lane, Echo Fox’s mid laner, Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun, dominated his lane with his Zoe pick. Fenix consistently picked off 100 Thieves players with his Sleepy Trouble Bubble and Paddle Star combo, giving Echo Fox a significant gold advantage.

With Fenix’s success in the mid lane, Huni had the freedom to focus on farming and become the team’s splitpusher once the laning phase ended. By the 30-minute mark, Huni was able to out-duel anyone on 100 Thieves and even came close to winning a 2v1 fight.

While Echo Fox managed to secure the victory with Yasuo, it’s unlikely that we’ll see this champion being used frequently in the NA LCS. Huni’s exceptional skill with Yasuo sets him apart from other top laners in the league.
