Huge buffs coming for Garen and Mundo

The Top Lane Meta in League of Legends Sees Garen and Dr. Mundo Receive Buffs

In the world of League of Legends, the top lane meta can often be unbalanced, with a few champions dominating while others struggle. Garen and Dr. Mundo have been two of the weaker champions for the past year, but Riot Games has decided to give them some much-needed buffs.

Garen’s buffs are quite significant. His Q ability will now deal an additional 40 base damage at max rank, focusing on his late-game power. However, the real game-changer is his W ability, Courage. It will now provide him with 85 percent damage reduction and tenacity, up from 60 percent. This means Garen will be able to withstand big bursts of damage and crowd control effects much more effectively.

Despite these buffs, it’s unlikely that Garen will become meta due to his susceptibility to kiting and lack of crowd control. However, these changes bring him closer to viability in certain situations.

Dr. Mundo’s buffs are not as drastic, but they still make a difference. His ultimate ability, Sadism, will now regenerate 50 to 100 percent of his max health, up from 40 to 60 percent. This means that at max rank, Dr. Mundo can fully regenerate his health bar, even with Grievous Wounds applied.

While these buffs may not bring Dr. Mundo back into the meta, they certainly make him more viable than before. Both sets of buffs are expected to go live with Patch 8.9 next week.
