In League of Legends, Ranked Solo/Duo is a popular game mode that rewards players with LP (League Points) for each win. These LP help players progress to the next division. However, before moving on, players must complete a series of promo games to determine their eligibility for promotion.

What is a Promo Helper?
A Promo Helper is a feature designed to assist players in their promo series by granting them up to two free wins. This feature makes it easier for players to advance to the next division if they struggle with promo games.
What does a Promo Helper do?
When a player repeatedly fails their promo series, the Promo Helper is intended to aid them in reaching the next division. If a player fails the promo series once, they receive one free win. If they fail twice, they receive two free wins.
In a promo series, players must win three out of five consecutive ranked games. Failing to win three games results in LP loss equivalent to what would have been lost outside of promos. Failing a promo series sets players back in terms of LP.
Where do Promo Helpers end?
Promo Helpers were only implemented in the lower ranks of the game, including Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Gold in League of Legends.
Dodging Games
If a player decides to dodge a game during champ select in their promo series, they will not receive a free win in their next series. Dodging a promo series match counts as a loss and eliminates the chance of a Promo Helper win.
Skipping Promos
In League of Legends, players with a high enough MMR (Match Making Rating) can skip the promo series entirely. If a player consistently performs at a higher level compared to their rank, they may face players from higher ranks. In such cases, promo games can be skipped. Skipping promo games eliminates the need for a free win from the Promo Helper.
