How Does Dark Harvest Work and How Can It be Stacked Quickly?

League Meta changes and evolves. Riot keeps things fresh by mixing up the game and introducing new masteries. One mastery that has gained popularity recently is Dark Harvest. In this guide, we’ll explain what Dark Harvest does and how to use it effectively.

What is Dark Harvest?

Dark Harvest is a Mastery in the Domination Path. It’s designed for Champions who deal a lot of damage. When Dark Harvest is off cooldown, it grants a stack and deals bonus damage to enemy Champions below 50% HP. After using Dark Harvest, it goes on cooldown for 45 seconds and you have to wait to gain another stack.

The stacks are permanent and last the entire game. The bonus damage from Dark Harvest increases based on the number of stacks accumulated. The strategy is to stack Dark Harvest during the laning phase to maximize damage in the mid to late game.

How to Stack Dark Harvest?

The method of stacking Dark Harvest depends on the Champion and role you’re playing. ADCs and ranged Champions stack it by poking their lane opponents. If your enemy laner is below half health, trading with them will help you gain a stack. Junglers can stack Dark Harvest by ganking low HP targets. Look for opportunities to hit low HP enemies with auto attacks or abilities to gain stacks.

Dark Harvest or Electrocute?

Many Champions initially gravitated towards Electrocute when masteries were reworked. However, Dark Harvest offers similar benefits without falling off late game. If your Champion needs to dominate the early game, go with Electrocute. But if you won’t be able to secure kills in the early game or can kill without Electrocute’s damage, Dark Harvest is a better choice. It provides overall more significant damage than Electrocute and is preferred by Junglers for its late-game potential.

Dark Harvest works well on Assassins, especially Champions like Jhin, Miss Fortune, Shaco, Kha’Zix, Ekko, and Graves. These Champions benefit greatly from the bonus damage it provides. Dark Harvest is a versatile Mastery that can be used by many Champions to scale and deal more damage throughout the game.

Dark Harvest has some intricacies worth knowing. The bonus damage it applies is adaptive, meaning it deals attack damage or magic damage based on your stats. It has a cooldown of 45 seconds but resets to 1.5 seconds if you score a takedown. It can also stack on kills after turrets, minions, or monsters deal the killing blow. Dark Harvest triggers on clones but not on zombies. Some abilities and passives won’t apply Dark Harvest. Understanding these details can help you maximize the Keystone’s effectiveness.

Feel free to try Dark Harvest on any Champion you play. It’s a fun Mastery with high damage potential in the late game. Give it a shot and see if you can create a new Meta.
