Hong Kong Attitude secures spot in Worlds main event with an impressive backdoor victory against Isurus Gaming

When a backdoor play happens in esports, it usually catches the defending team off guard. However, in the final game between Hong Kong Attitude and Isurus Gaming, something different occurred. Isurus Gaming had the upper hand after a chaotic battle in their blue side jungle and went for the Elder Drake to secure their win. But instead of contesting, Hong Kong Attitude took advantage of their Tristana champion and decided to backdoor Isurus’ base. Isurus couldn’t get back in time, and since Hong Kong had a 2-1 match lead, they were eliminated from Worlds 2019 without even having a chance to defend their base.

The series overall favored Hong Kong Attitude, with all five players making significant contributions. The bot lane duo of Wong “Unified” Chun-kit and Ling Kai-wing played a crucial role in carrying the team to victory. Unified’s diverse champion pool, starting with Syndra and ending with Veigar, contributed to their wins. Mid laner Chen “M1ssion” Hsiao-Hsien held his own against Édgar “Seiya” Munguía, showcasing his skill on scaling and waveclear champions. On the other hand, top laner Chen “3z” Han struggled against his lane counterpart Mateo “Buggax” Zamora but managed to step up when it mattered most. 3z took advantage of Syndra and Veigar’s zoning power to destroy Isurus’ structures.

With this win, Hong Kong Attitude becomes the third LMS team to qualify for the Worlds main event. This achievement is significant for a region that will undergo significant changes after the tournament. It is likely that Hong Kong Attitude will be placed in Group A, alongside G2 Esports, Griffin, and Cloud9.
