Heretics reportedly sign Japanese mainstay Evi for 2023 LEC season

Team Heretics Signs DetonatioN FocusMe Top Laner Evi for LEC Debut

Team Heretics is set to make a big splash in their debut LEC split with the signing of Evi, the top laner from DetonatioN FocusMe. According to a report by Alejandro Gomis of Blix.gg, Evi will make his move to a major region for the first time in 2023.

Evi has been playing in Japan’s LJL since 2014 and has been with DFM since 2018. With DFM, Evi has won eight LJL titles and has represented the region in multiple international tournaments. He has been a consistent presence in the LJL grand finals since joining the team.

DFM made history in 2021 by becoming the first Japanese team to reach the group stage at Worlds. Although they fell short in the play-in stage, losing to MSI champions Royal Never Give Up, their performance showcased their potential.

Joining Heretics, Evi will join forces with mid laner Ruby and support Mersa, who were previously rumored to be joining the team. This roster is looking strong and ready to compete in the LEC.

In addition to building a strong roster, Heretics is also bringing in renowned talent developer and strategist Peter Dun as their head coach. With these moves, Heretics is positioning themselves as a serious contender in the LEC.

Heretics acquired their LEC slot from Misfits last summer and will debut in the 2023 LEC season. They are one of two Spanish organizations making their way into the LEC, with KOI also joining after purchasing a majority stake in the slot owned by Rogue.

The 2023 LEC season is set to begin in January, and fans can’t wait to see what Team Heretics will bring to the stage.
