Heretics Defeat BDS Academy in EUM Summer Finals, Reclaiming Trophy from LFL

LVP’s Team Heretics Wins European Masters Trophy, Returns it to Spain

Team Heretics, representing Spain, emerged victorious in the Summer finals of the European Masters tournament by defeating BDS Academy from the LFL in a thrilling League of Legends series. Despite being considered the underdog, Team Heretics impressed with their exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

A Surprising Turn of Events

Going into the tournament, BDS Academy was the favorite on paper as they had not lost a single game. However, Team Heretics emerged as a threatening dark horse with a remarkable run.

An Intense Series

The series between the two teams witnessed multiple twists and turns. Team Heretics won the first two games, then lost the following two, only to clinch victory in the final decisive match.

Team Heretics’ Journey to Victory

The EU Masters Summer marked a wind of change, as the triple defending champion Karmine Corp failed to qualify for the tournament. Despite LFL’s strong presence in the playoffs, Team Heretics managed to defeat LDLC OL in the semifinals and secure a spot in the finals.

When it came to the finals, Team Heretics appeared well-prepared. They effectively neutralized the aggression of BDS’s top laner Adam and jungle player Sheo, thanks to the strategic maneuvers of their jungler bluerzor. This allowed them to gain an advantage early in the game, which was usually dominated by the LFL team.

Although Team Heretics struggled at times to close out the game, BDS Academy started making more mistakes under the pressure of their opponents’ aggression and smart drafts. Jackspektra, even without his signature champion Draven, made a significant impact on the series.

Despite BDS Academy’s attempts at a comeback, Team Heretics emerged victorious in the final game with a decisive fight at their base.

A Milestone Achievement

This victory is significant for Team Heretics as it marks Spain’s first European Masters title since 2018. The organization is also set to compete in the LEC next year after acquiring Misfits Gaming’s spot. While the roster is yet to be announced, there is a high chance that the academy team’s players will make it to the LEC, whether under the Team Heretics banner or with another team.
