H2k’s Troubled Season Could Lead to Stealing Vitality’s Victory

H2k Gaming: Defying Odds to Make it to the Playoffs

H2k's Troubled Season Could Lead to Stealing Vitality's Victory

If the Spring Split felt like a never-ending roller coaster ride, H2k Gaming was the car in the back getting thrown around the most. They were one of the worst teams throughout the split, but somehow managed to steal wins from top teams like G2 Esports and ROCCAT towards the end. Surprisingly, they secured a fifth seed in the playoffs and now have to face Vitality.

Defying the odds, H2k Gaming managed to make it to the playoffs even though no one expected it. Their strategy seemed bizarre and difficult to explain. It appeared as if H2k were convincing their opponents to throw the game, although without any sinister intentions. Whenever it seemed like H2k was about to lose, their opponents would make incredibly stupid mistakes that cost them the game. This happened consistently throughout the split, leading H2k into the playoffs.

It’s hard to pinpoint what makes H2k successful with this strategy. Some might argue that they have a great late-game, but their performance this split doesn’t fully support that claim. Other explanations involve magic spells and curses, but it remains a mystery.

Their ability to turn games in their favor was perfectly showcased in their matches against G2 and ROCCAT. In both cases, their opponents had a significant advantage, but H2k managed to catch them off-guard and secure the victory. These unexpected comebacks highlight what it means to be H2k this split. Even their head coach, Michael “Veteran” Archer, seemed surprised in those moments.

Vitality, on the other hand, has their own struggles to overcome. Gilius, their jungler, has single-handedly thrown many games for the team. Whether it’s intentionally dying or playing poorly during the early stages, Gilius has become notorious for hindering his team’s success. It remains to be seen if H2k’s mysterious powers can convince him to throw the game as well.

Fortunately for Vitality, they have strong laners to support Gilius. Players like Jiizuke, Minitroupax, and Cabochard have proven themselves throughout the split. H2k also boasts talented players like Sheriff and Selfie, who have consistently performed well.

The best-of-five series between H2k Gaming and Vitality kicks off on Saturday at 5pm CET (9am PT). It will be interesting to see if H2k’s unorthodox strategy can continue to defy expectations.
