H2k-Gaming and EDward Gaming advance to Worlds quarterfinals

Europe’s H2k-Gaming and EDward Gaming Secure Spots in League of Legends World Championships Quarterfinals

Half of the teams for the League of Legends World Championships quarterfinals have been determined, with Europe’s H2k-Gaming and Chinese champions EDward Gaming earning their spots in the top eight.

H2k-Gaming had a perfect 3-0 score on the final day of group play, after just one win in the previous days. They managed to beat every other team in the group, finishing joint top and securing the number one seed coming out of the group by defeating EDward Gaming in the tiebreaker.

Both games against EDward Gaming were intense, lasting around 45 minutes. H2k-Gaming won both matches with more kills than their opponents.

One of the standout moments was a quadkill from H2k-Gaming’s jungler, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski. (YouTube embed: video)

After a difficult start for Europe, with a 1-8 record in the first week of group play, H2k-Gaming’s success comes as a relief for fans. However, they are likely to be the only European representative in the quarterfinals, as Splyce currently sit at 0-3 and would need a miracle to qualify.
