H2k finalizes its 2018 lineup with five ex-Challenger players, making full roster changes

H2k Gaming Announces 2018 EU LCS Roster

H2k Gaming has officially announced its 2018 EU LCS roster today, as confirmed in their recent announcement video.

All the players joining H2k this season have relatively less experience compared to other LCS professionals. They have previously played in the Challenger Series as they were either unable to secure contracts with major league teams or help their CS team progress until now.

The roster includes Patrik “Sheriff” Jíru as the ADC, Hampus “sprattel” Mikael Abrahamsson as the support, Marc “Caedrel” Robert Lamont in the mid lane, Lennart “Smittyj” Warkus in the top lane, and Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen as the jungler.

Despite the players’ lack of recent success, H2k is enthusiastic about the upcoming season. The organization describes the new players as passionate and driven in an interview with theScore Esports.

Santorin and sprattel are the most experienced players, having previously played in the LCS. Santorin was part of TSM in the NA LCS and helped them win a split title in 2015. Since then, he has played for NRG, Ember, and most recently, Gold Coin United in the Challenger Series. Sprattel, on the other hand, came from an EU LCS team—Ninjas in Pyjamas—but also had stints with various Challenger teams prior to that.

While Smittyj briefly played for Team Dignitas, Sheriff, Caedrel, and himself have had relatively minor careers in professional League.

Michael “Veteran” Archer, who previously served as the team’s lead analyst during their fourth-place finish at Worlds in 2016, has returned as the head coach. H2k will aim to exceed the low expectations set by the community for their new roster when the EU LCS kicks off in January.
