H2K delivers second loss to Vitality in a week

H2K upsets Team Vitality to keep playoff dreams alive

H2K secured two victories this week, including a surprising win over first-place Team Vitality, to boost their chances of making it to the EU LCS playoffs.

Vitality, leading the pack with just one win ahead of G2 Esports and Fnatic, needed a win against H2K to maintain their grip on the top spot in the EU LCS.

However, poor decision-making from Vitality throughout the game handed H2K an easy win. In an attempt to gain an early advantage, Vitality ventured into the bot lane but was outplayed by H2K, who had successfully anticipated their moves.

Vitality’s situation went from bad to worse as they trailed behind for the majority of the match. Despite a few minor victories, a successful Baron attempt by H2K at the 25-minute mark sealed the deal, leading to their victory.

This week marked H2K’s first 2-0 performance in the 2018 EU LCS Spring Split. Their new jungler, Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema, played a crucial role in both wins. Shook’s success can be attributed, in part, to the poor decisions made by Vitality jungler Erberk “Gilius” Demir, whose failed gank attempt in the Baron pit resulted in his demise and handed H2K full control of the game.

Vitality showed a lack of caution, engaging in fights without proper support or vision, which ultimately cost them the match. To hold onto their first-place standing in the EU LCS, Vitality will need to regroup and come back stronger in the upcoming week.
