H2k dashes Albus NoX’s dreams, secures spot in Worlds semifinals

Upset in League of Legends World Championships Quarterfinals

The quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championships saw an unexpected outcome as wildcard team Albus NoX Luna faced off against European side H2k-Gaming.

H2k-Gaming secured the final spot in the semifinals with an impressive 3-0 victory over their Russian opponents.

Commanding Early Leads for H2k-Gaming

In each of the three games, H2k-Gaming quickly established a dominant early game lead, leaving Albus NoX Luna struggling to catch up.

The first game saw H2k-Gaming accumulate 28 kills in just 35 minutes, while Albus NoX only managed to secure eight kills in return. Although Albus NoX stole Baron and extended the game, it was only a temporary delay before their defeat.

The second game of the series was the quickest, with H2k-Gaming winning in just 24 minutes. They had a substantial 17k gold advantage and secured 15 kills compared to Albus NoX’s two. H2k-Gaming sealed their victory during a teamfight where they dominated Albus NoX with a 4-1 advantage.

Game three was the closest of the series, with Albus NoX achieving a double-figure kill score for the first time. However, H2k-Gaming’s midlaner Ryu Sang-wook performed exceptionally well and had a spree of kills, mainly targeting Albus NoX’s midlaner Michael “Kira” Garmash.

H2k-Gaming Heads to the Semifinals

With their victory, H2k-Gaming becomes the only non-Korean team in the Worlds semifinal lineup. They will face off against Samsung Galaxy on Saturday, following the match between SK Telecom T1 and ROX Tigers on Friday.
