Griffin’s Tarzan Dominates with a 13-0 Opening Series, Solidifying Status as Top Jungler

Griffin’s Tarzan Dominates in LCK Season Opener

If you’re not familiar with the LCK, you still might have heard of Griffin’s jungler, Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, in 2018. Despite not competing in the League of Legends World Championship, many consider Tarzan to be the best jungler in the world.

In the 2019 LCK season opener against Kingzone DragonX, Tarzan proved that his skills haven’t diminished during the offseason. He secured 13 kills and zero deaths in the series, leaving no room for doubt that he is indeed the best jungler in the world.

Tarzan played Xin Zhao in both games of the best-of-three series, leading Griffin to a quick two-game sweep over the former LCK favorites. His strategic jungle pathing allowed him to be in the right place at the right time, securing kills and giving Griffin an advantage in all map objectives. Throughout the series, Tarzan’s team secured five dragons, two Rift Heralds, and a Baron, gaining total control of the map.

The gold lead in both games was substantial. Despite the relatively short game times of 25 and 31 minutes, Griffin had a nearly 20,000 gold lead at the end of each game. Additionally, they took down a total of 17 towers while Kingzone failed to take even one. This was a disappointing performance for Kingzone fans, but a thrilling display for Griffin and Tarzan supporters.

The Excitement Continues

The first day of the LCK has come to a close, but the excitement continues tomorrow with games featuring Gen.G and SK Telecom T1.
