Good morning Europe: BDS secures last spot at LoL Worlds, shattering NA dreams

BDS Dominates Golden Guardians in Worlds Qualifying Series

In the Worlds Qualifying Series, Team BDS from the LEC crushed Golden Guardians with a swift 3-0 victory, securing the final spot in the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. This marks their first appearance in the prestigious event, and fans are now eager to see if BDS can maintain their impressive performance.

The first game of the series showcased Team BDS’s dominance. Despite facing a scaling composition, the LEC representatives aggressively took control in the early game. With strategic map control through ward placements, turret demolitions, and overall lane advantages, BDS secured a quick victory in under 21 minutes, thanks in part to the outstanding performance of their jungler, Sheo.

Golden Guardians, considered favorites to win based on BDS’s inconsistent performances in the LEC 2023 Summer split, struggled in the second game of the match. NA’s fourth seed initially took control of the jungle and secured the first blood, but BDS turned the tables at the 20-minute mark. Their jungler managed to steal the Baron from under GG’s nose, providing the tools for BDS to stage a comeback.

One game away from qualifying for the World Championships, BDS systematically shut down their opponents in the following game, leaving no chance for a reverse sweep. It was the most dominating and one-sided game of the series, reminiscent of BDS’s performance in the LEC Spring Split.

This impressive victory solidifies BDS’s 3-0 win and showcases their potential as a formidable force in the League of Legends World Championship.

BDS’s Potential in Worlds 2023

Moving forward, fans will eagerly anticipate whether Team BDS can maintain their momentum and make a deep run in Worlds, proving that anything can happen on the international stage of League. The competition will officially begin tomorrow with the match between Latin America’s Movistar R7 and PCS’ PSG Talon.

Golden Guardians’ Downtime Impacted Performance

Golden Guardians’ experience on the global stage was seen as an advantage, but the one-month break between their regular season and the match against BDS destabilized the team. On the other hand, BDS remained true to their core style and showcased standout performances with comfortable picks, surprising fans at the LoL Park in Seoul.
