Golden Guardians emerge victorious in clash against CLG, the battle of bottom-tier teams

The Golden Guardians Shine in Victory over CLG

The Golden Guardians achieved a resounding victory over CLG in the 2020 League of Legends Spring Split standings, with each team member delivering a stellar performance.

Yuri “Keith” Jew, the often-criticized support for Golden Guardians, showed his skill in his new role on Nautilus. A well-timed roam resulted in a kill on CLG mid laner Lee “Crown” Min-ho at the 10-minute mark. Furthermore, Keith’s impeccable use of Stopwatch during a skirmish showcased his growth and improvement.

In a game that remained relatively even until the first Baron fight, CLG’s jungler, Raymond “Wiggily” Griffin, played a crucial role in keeping his team in the game. With his outstanding ganks and leadership in securing key neutral objectives, including a Dragon steal, Wiggily provided the backbone for CLG.

Despite Wiggily’s efforts, Golden Guardians displayed superior coordination and emerged as the more dominant team. Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer outmatched Crown throughout the entire game, securing six kills on Cassiopeia compared to Crown’s mere two kills.

Additionally, this match witnessed the debut of three champions in the LCS Spring Split: Neeko, Yuumi, and Kai’sa, played by Crown, Andy “Smoothie” Ta, and Victor “FBI” Huang, respectively.

The Road Ahead

The Golden Guardians will aim to maintain their momentum and achieve a 4-4 record as they face Dignitas on Sunday. Meanwhile, CLG faces a formidable opponent in Team Liquid as they strive for their second win of the split.
