Gods’ Wrath: RNG Triumphs over T1, Inflicting Second Defeat at MSI 2022

Royal Never Give Up Scores Victory against T1 in League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational

The 2022 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational rumble stage continues to deliver surprises. In the latest upset, Royal Never Give Up (RNG), representing China’s LPL, defeated T1, the Korean representatives, pushing them down in the tournament standings. This marks T1’s second loss in the competition.

Unforeseen Outcome

Despite both teams being undefeated in the group stages, they suffered defeats at the hands of G2 Esports, the European LEC representatives, on the first day of the rumble stage. On the second day, both teams had the opportunity to redeem themselves and triumph over their rival regions. Traditionally, T1 has dominated these encounters, but RNG shattered expectations.

A Thrilling Match

The match started with T1 gaining an early advantage as Zeus secured the first blood against Bin, the enemy top laner. However, RNG capitalized on their opponents’ mistakes, staying relevant throughout the game. At the 20-minute mark, T1 had a 1600 gold lead, but RNG managed to even the playing field by strategically securing critical objectives. In the end, GALA’s exceptional performance on Kai’Sa led to a quadra kill against the T1 squad, resulting in the shattering of T1’s Nexus.

GALA’s Dominance

GALA showcased his prowess on Kai’Sa without a single death and an impressive KDA of 12/0/6. This marked his second successful game with the champion at MSI 2022, having secured a pentakill during the group stages. Notably, GALA did not pick Kai’Sa during the LPL Spring Split 2022, as per stats from Game of Legends.

RNG will continue their journey towards the top by facing Saigon Buffalo, the VCS representatives, in their next match. On the other hand, T1 will confront Evil Geniuses from the LCS and aim to get back on the winning track at MSI 2022.
