Gleeb and Shernfire join Final Five

Final Five Announces Roster Changes

Final Five, one of North America’s most rapidly changing League of Legends teams, has made two new additions to its roster. Nicholas “GleebGlarbu” Haddad, a former Winterfox support player, and Shern “Shernfire” Tai, a former Dire Wolves substitute jungler, have joined the team. This news comes after Jamie “Sheep” Gallagher and Matt “Impaler” Taylor left the team in April. Final Five is also in the process of trialing new mid and top laners.

Returning and Departing Players

Marksman Kim “Veritas” Kyoun-gmin, originally from the Oceania region, will be returning to Final Five. However, Austin “Gate” Yu, the former mid laner, is moving on to join Team Coast. There is no information about the future plans of top laner Keenan “Rhux” Santos. The team has fielded a “three-fifths” roster, according to Riot Games, allowing them to keep their spot in the Challenger Series.

Controversy and Streaming Partnership

Shern “Shernfire” Tai faced controversy in Oceania due to allegations of elo boosting and toxic behavior in-game. This eventually led to him being barred from playing competitively with Dire Wolves. Like his Final Five teammates, Tai has become a partnered streamer on Azubu, under the Team Coast brand. Team Coast and Final Five have a close relationship, having previously merged and disbanded, but still working together with shared staff members.

Adding a New Support Player

The addition of Nicholas “GleebGlarbu” Haddad as the new support player for Final Five is not surprising. The team needed to find a replacement for Jamie Gallagher and Haddad was the best available option. After Winterfox lost in the promotion tournament, Haddad trialed with Counter Logic Gaming Black before ultimately choosing Final Five.

The team’s first competitive match will be on June 23. Final Five will be competing against Team Coast, Winterfox, Cloud9 Tempest, and Misfits, with the latter two qualifying for the split on June 10. The final participant for the series will be determined on June 16 when Counter Logic Gaming Black battles MAGnetic.

Final Five has yet to respond to a request for comment.
