Gen.G’s impressive 2022 LCK Spring Split record advances to 7-2 as NS RedForce continues their losing streak in fifth consecutive series.

Gen.G Sweeps Nongshim RedForce, Shakes Up LCK Spring Split Standings

In a dominant performance, Gen.G emerged victorious against Nongshim RedForce in the 2022 LCK Spring Split, securing a two-game sweep. This defeat pushed NS RedForce down to seventh place in the overall standings.

The stakes were high for NS RedForce heading into this match, as a win would have meant tying KT Rolster for fifth place at the halfway point of the regular season. However, Gen.G had less to lose, as even a loss would have kept them in second place. Unfortunately for NS RedForce, they were unable to secure the victory and now find themselves out of the existing playoff picture.

The first game showcased Gen.G’s macro and map play, allowing them to acquire important objectives such as four dragons and a Baron. Despite the efforts of NS RedForce’s Bdd on the roam-heavy Ryze pick, Gen.G’s advantage proved too much to overcome, resulting in a 1-0 win for Gen.G.

In game two, Gen.G jungler Peanut demonstrated his skill on the signature Lee Sin pick. While he didn’t have a strong early-game impact, Peanut gradually accumulated kills and played a crucial role in Gen.G’s victory. With six kills and a 90-percent kill participation, Peanut contributed significantly to Gen.G’s success in the second game.

Gen.G’s triumph solidifies their strong season record of 7-2, placing them as a top title contender alongside T1. Their next challenge will be against Liiv SANDBOX on Feb. 18, where they aim to improve to 8-2 in the 2022 LCK Spring Split.

Unfortunately, the loss to Gen.G puts NS RedForce in a tough position. They now sit in seventh place, behind Fredit BRION, who surpassed them due to a better head-to-head record. This defeat marks NS RedForce’s fifth consecutive series loss in the Spring Split, highlighting their struggles after a promising start.

Looking ahead, NS RedForce will attempt to regain their position and secure the sixth playoff seed. However, their task won’t be easy, as they face the undefeated T1 on Feb. 20.
