Gen.G sweeps Afreeca Freecs in the last match of LCK Summer Split

Gen.G Concludes 2020 LCK Summer Split with Dominant Victory over Afreeca Freecs

Gen.G ended their run in the 2020 LCK Summer Split on a high note, defeating Afreeca Freecs in a convincing 2-0 series in League of Legends.

The duo in Gen.G’s bottom lane, Ruler and Life, were both outstanding in the match and received the Player of the Game awards. Ruler’s Senna performance was particularly impressive, finishing with a flawless 6/0/6 scoreline.

One of the highlights of the match was Ruler’s game-deciding ultimates, which saved Gen.G from multiple deaths. Life also had an exceptional game on Alistar, landing crucial combos both in the lane and during team fights.

Gen.G Celebrates Victory on Social Media

To celebrate their triumph, Gen.G tweeted about their 2-0 victory over Afreeca Freecs, thanking their fans for their support and inviting them to watch G-LIVE with Ruler and head coach oDin to discuss the game. The tweet included a link to the livestream.

Dominant Performance in the First Game

The first game of the series started off chaotically, with kills happening across the map. However, after a hectic fight in the bottom lane, Gen.G managed to secure a significant lead and maintained it for the rest of the game. Ruler’s strong presence, using his lead to land crucial roots and ultimates, contributed to AFS’ inability to secure any more kills for the next 15 minutes. Gen.G’s pressure suffocated AFS on every part of the map.

Ruler Shines Again in the Second Game

In the second game, Gen.G once again dominated, securing multiple kills and maintaining a gold lead throughout the match. By the 32-minute mark, Gen.G had built a lead of over 16,000 gold. AFS couldn’t secure any neutral objectives and ultimately lost the game. Ruler’s exceptional performance once again stood out, supported by Life’s well-timed combos.

AFS Proves to be the Gatekeeper to Playoffs

AFS maintained their reputation as the gatekeeper to playoffs by winning against teams ranked sixth to 10th but losing to teams ranked first to fourth. The title was previously held by Hanwha Life Esports, but they struggled this split and finished towards the bottom of the standings.

Gen.G Ends the Season on a Positive Note

Gen.G finished the season in third place, while Afreeca Freecs secured the fifth spot. AFS will have to face T1 in the wildcard best-of-three round of playoffs to qualify for the main playoffs. On the other hand, Gen.G is already guaranteed a spot since they recently defeated both T1 and AFS and have shown significant improvement.
