Gen.G remains the only undefeated team in 2021 LCK Summer Split after defeating Nongshim RedForce

Gen.G Defeats Nongshim RedForce in Close Series

Gen.G emerged victorious with a 2-1 series win against Nongshim RedForce in the 2021 LCK Summer Split. Both teams displayed their best picks in a closely contested clash. However, Gen.G’s veteran experience proved instrumental in ending Nongshim RedForce’s dominant start to the Summer Split.

Gen.G’s MVP votes for today went to jungler Clid and top laner Rascal. Clid utilized Diana in the first game to secure early-game skirmishes and give his team an advantage. Rascal, on the other hand, dominated his lane and teamfights with Gnar’s engages. He also dealt the most damage for his team.

In the first game, Gen.G’s superior draft and focus on early-game skirmishes allowed them to secure a dominant win. They capitalized on their victories, building a small gold lead that quickly snowballed out of control. Gen.G sealed the game in just 30 minutes.

The second game saw both teams opting for similar drafts, with Nongshim RedForce taking the lead this time. They had a stronger early game and managed to secure the Ocean Dragon Soul, despite giving away the first couple of drakes. Gen.G’s Kog’Maw couldn’t provide enough damage to contend with the Ocean Soul, allowing Nongshim RedForce to equalize the series.

In the decisive third match, Rascal and Ruler dominated their respective lanes, providing Gen.G with a clear path to victory. Clid focused on securing objectives and supporting his winning teammates, thereby increasing their chances of winning. Although Nongshim RedForce made some decent picks, they couldn’t bridge the gold lead. Gen.G secured the Infernal Dragon Soul and emerged victorious in teamfights. They swiftly advanced to Nongshim RedForce’s Nexus, ultimately winning the series 2-1.

Upcoming Matches and Standings

With a perfect 4-0 record, Gen.G will face Liiv SANDBOX and Afreeca Freecs next week. Both teams are struggling to secure wins, so it shouldn’t pose much of a challenge for the undefeated veterans to take them down.
