Gen.G Parts Ways with CoreJJ, Haru, and Mong

Gen.G announced today that they have decided to part ways with their support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in, jungler Kang “Haru” Min-seung, and top laner Moon “Mong” Chang-min.

“We would like to express our greatest gratitude to CoreJJ, who helped the team win Worlds 2017, and advance to Worlds 2018 with top support plays, Haru, who helped accomplish the past achievements like CoreJJ did as a jungler, and Mong as a great teammate,” Gen.G wrote in its farewell post. “We thank the players for giving us a great season and hope the best for the players’ future.”

Originally an AD carry, CoreJJ became a support player after joining Samsung Galaxy, now known as Gen.G. His addition to the starting lineup in 2016 drastically improved Samsung’s performance, leading them to the World Championship final that year and eventually winning the tournament in 2017.

Haru joined Gen.G at the beginning of the 2017 season and quickly became an important part of the team. Over the past two years, he shared the starting lineup with Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong, playing aggressive jungle champions. Towards the end of 2018, Haru became the main jungler for Gen.G, playing in almost every game.

Mong joined Gen.G halfway through 2018 alongside Song “Fly” Yong-jun. However, he only played one on-stage game during his time with the team, which resulted in a loss.

This announcement comes after Gen.G said goodbye to team captain Ambition and veteran mid laner Lee “Crown” Min-ho. The remaining players on Gen.G’s roster include top laner Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin, mid laner Song “Fly” Yong-jun, AD carry Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, and substitute support Kim “Life” Jeong-min.
