Gen.G Starts Strong in the 2021 LCK Summer Split with a Win over DRX

In the opening match of the 2021 LCK Summer Split, Gen.G showcased their championship potential with a victory over DRX. Despite a setback in the first game, Gen.G bounced back strongly to secure a 2-1 win.

DRX surprised Gen.G with an unconventional Lulu and Xin Zhao draft in the first game, easily securing the win. However, Gen.G quickly regrouped and dominated the second game, outclassing their opponents with a significant gold lead of over 14,000.

In the final game, both teams drafted aggressive compositions. Gen.G took an early lead, securing multiple kills and transforming it into a substantial advantage in the late game. Through objective control and adept sieging, Gen.G claimed the victory.

Gen.G’s AD carry, Ruler, played a crucial role in the team’s success, finishing with an impressive scoreline of 12/3/9 across the three games. His exceptional performance on Jinx contributed significantly to Gen.G’s lead and ultimate victory.

Upcoming Matches

The action continues for both teams in the coming week. Gen.G will face Hanwha Life on Saturday, June 12, while DRX is scheduled to take on Afreeca Freecs on Sunday, June 13.
