Gamescom presents League of Legends tournament, revealing both ecstasy and anguish.

Riot Games Brings High Stakes Matches to Gamescom

Riot Games and League of Legends made an appearance at Gamescom today, with two matches that had significant implications. One team secured their spot in the $2.2 million World Championship, while another team faced the possibility of losing their spot in the League Championship Series.

Supa Hot Crew dominated Millenium in their match, securing their spot in the next season of the League Championship Series. With a strong performance, Supa Hot Crew showed their preparedness against Millenium, using lane swaps to their advantage. Over three maps, Supa Hot Crew scored 56 kills, while Millenium only managed 18. This loss puts Millenium in a precarious position as they fight to stay in the LCS.

Millenium’s Struggles Continue

Millenium finished last in the Spring Split but narrowly survived relegation. In the Summer season, they started strong, but ended with an 0-4 Super Week, and carried that losing streak through the playoffs. With their recent loss to Supa Hot Crew, Millenium has now lost 11 straight maps. It’s unclear how Riot Games will handle the relegation process, but one thing is certain – Millenium needs to improve if they want to stay in the LCS.

Turkish Team Secures Wild Card Spot

In another Gamescom match, Turkish team Dark Passage secured one of the two wild card spots in the World Championships. They defeated Australian challengers Legacy eSports in the International Wild Card Tournament. Led by top laner Asim “fabFabulous” Cihat Karakaya and mid laner Koray “Naru” Biçak, Dark Passage swept Legacy in a convincing 3-0 series. Despite being underdogs, Dark Passage is determined to make their mark at the World Championships.

“It’s awesome for us. A Turkish team in the worlds. We’re so happy,” said team captain Anıl “Holyphoenix” Işık. Karakaya believes they can muster one or two wins at worlds, and the team is committed to making that happen.
