Gambit Esports Discontinues League of Legends Division Operations

Gambit Esports Shuts Down League of Legends Division

Gambit Esports, a well-known European organization, has announced the immediate closure of its League of Legends division.

History of Gambit Gaming

The team originally consisted of the ex-Moscow Five roster and competed under the name Gambit Gaming. They represented Europe at the season three World Championship before competing in Europe for three years. In 2016, Gambit sold its EU LCS spot to Team Vitality.

Reasons for Closure

Gambit Esports did not give a specific reason for its departure from League of Legends. The organization simply stated that their “exciting journey has come to an end.”

After leaving the EU LCS, Gambit Esports renamed itself and competed in the League of Legends Continental League (LCL). They achieved success in the LCL, winning three domestic titles and participating in two World Championships and one Mid-Season Invitational.

Gambit Esports Today

Despite closing its League of Legends division, Gambit Esports still has active rosters competing in Fortnite, CS:GO, Dota 2, Apex Legends, and VALORANT.
