GAM Esports secures spot as Vietnam’s second team in Worlds 2022

GAM Esports Secures Spot in 2022 League of Legends World Championship

GAM Esports dominated the second semifinal of the 2022 VCS Summer Playoffs, securing a 3-0 victory and advancing to the finals. This victory not only grants them a chance to compete for a domestic trophy but also guarantees their qualification for the prestigious 2022 League of Legends World Championship.

With this win, GAM Esports joins Saigon Buffalo as the second representative from their region at Worlds 2022.

This won’t be GAM’s first international event, as they have previously competed in Worlds 2017 and 2019, as well as MSI 2017.

In 2019, GAM faced tough competition from the Taiwanese J Team, European third seed Splyce, and eventual world champions FunPlus Phoenix. Despite managing to secure one win against J Team, GAM finished last with a 1-5 record.

GAM’s current roster only features one player from their 2019 team, Đỗ “Levi” Duy Khánh, who continues to be their primary jungler. After their 9-12 finish at Worlds 2017, Levi went on to play under the banners of 100 Thieves and JD Gaming in North America and China, respectively.

Worlds 2022 is scheduled to begin on September 29 and will be hosted across four cities in North America: Mexico City, New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco.
