G2 unveils its 2023 LEC lineup featuring fresh and familiar players

G2 Esports Reveals New Roster for 2023 LEC Season

G2 Esports has officially announced its lineup for the upcoming 2023 LEC season. The team will see the return of top laner BrokenBlade and mid laner Caps from the 2022 squad. Joining them are three new players: jungler Martin “Yike” Sundelin, ADC Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, and support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle. These signings were previously rumored during the offseason.

Returning Champions and New Faces

Mikyx is no stranger to the G2 jersey, having been part of the legendary 2019 lineup that won the Mid-Season Invitational and reached the finals of Worlds the same year. After a year with Excel Esports, he has now returned to the European organization.

The addition of Hans Sama and Yike brings fresh talent to the G2 team. Hans Sama, an experienced player from Europe, previously played for Team Liquid in the LCS. Yike, on the other hand, will make his LEC debut in 2023. The 22-year-old player has made a name for himself in the ERLs and was a part of the successful LDLC OL roster in 2022.

G2 Roster Rumors

The G2 roster has been in the spotlight recently, as former G2 jungler Jankos leaked that the team was scrimsing against Team Heretics, Jankos’ new team.

Upcoming LEC Season

The 2023 Winter Split of the LEC will kick off on Jan. 21. The league has undergone format changes, which were announced on Nov. 18.
