G2 Officially Acquires Rekkles, Replacing Perkz

Former Fnatic AD Carry Rekkles Joins G2 Esports’ LoL Team

Rekkles, one of the greatest European ADCs of all time, has officially joined G2 Esports’ League of Legends team as the new bot laner, replacing Perkz. Perkz, the legendary mid laner who won 13 titles with G2, has reportedly joined Cloud9.

On November 18, Rekkles officially left Fnatic after expressing his desire to join a new team. This marks Rekkles’ first switch in eight years, with the exception of a short time playing for Alliance and Elements in 2015.

During his time with Fnatic, Rekkles won nine titles but struggled to overcome G2 in the regional competition. However, Fnatic did win the LEC Regional Finals last year against Splyce.

Rekkles will now team up with his former Fnatic teammate Caps, whom he competed with in 2017 and 2018. Together, they secured victories in the 2018 EU LCS Spring and Summer finals against G2 and Schalke respectively, leading to a strong performance by Fnatic at Worlds. Although they finished second overall, they lost to Invictus Gaming in the finals.

In the upcoming 2021 LEC Spring Split, Rekkles will join Caps, Jankos, Wunder, and Mikyx on the G2 roster.
