G2 manages to beat Evil Geniuses again at MSI, clinching 23rd straight victory

G2 Esports Continues Winning Streak at MSI Rumble Stage

G2 Esports secured their 23rd consecutive victory to start the second day of the 2022 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) rumble stage. In a match against Evil Geniuses from North America’s LCS, G2 emerged victorious for the fifth time, having already beaten EG in all four games during the group stage of the tournament. This win extends G2’s unbeaten streak since the LEC Spring playoffs on March 26.

G2, known as the hottest team in professional League of Legends, has been on a winning spree. Yesterday, they shattered T1’s hopes of a perfect season, ending their 26-match undefeated run. Later in the day, they also claimed a game against another tournament favorite, Royal Never Give Up from the LPL.

Facing Evil Geniuses today, G2 faced early challenges and fell behind by 1,500 gold at the 20-minute mark. However, they managed to equalize the game several minutes later. It was only when they secured some late-game picks that the tide truly turned in their favor.

Mid laner Caps continued to shine for G2 in this match, achieving a final score of 4/2/9 on his signature champion, LeBlanc. This win adds to Caps’ undefeated record on LeBlanc this season, with an all-time record of 25-11 with her, according to Games of Legends.

Caps has displayed his versatility throughout the rumble stage, playing three different champions and maintaining a KDA of 8.8, the highest among all players. G2 currently leads the pack at the rumble stage with a perfect 3-0 record. Their next match will be against Saigon Buffalo of the VCS, a team that has historically been a tough opponent for G2, holding a 3-1 head-to-head advantage over them.

On the other hand, Evil Geniuses holds a 1-2 record in the rumble stage. The LCS champions will seek redemption later today when they face PSG Talon.
