G2 Esports Give ADC Zven and Support Mithy Permission to Explore Options for 2018
G2 Esports has given their ADC Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen and support Alfonso “mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez permission to explore their options for the upcoming year before their contracts end in two weeks.
G2 Esports has allowed Zven and Mithy to field offers early instead of waiting until their contracts expire on Nov. 10. This gives the players the opportunity to either join a new team immediately after their G2 contracts end or remain with G2 without any employment gap.
EU LCS Changes Coming Along with Zven and Mithy’s Departure
Zven and Mithy have been the driving force behind G2’s dominant performance in the EU LCS over the past two years. They are considered the best ADC and Support in the league. G2 owner Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez informed the players about the team’s decision in a unique video.
Ocelote provided more insight into this move on Reddit. He mentioned that North American organizations had approached them prior to the announcement, expressing interest in acquiring the rights to speak with their players. However, some of the offers were unreasonably high. Ocelote stated that there is still a possibility of the players staying with G2, but he wants to ensure that they are fully convinced and ready to compete at the highest level.
With the introduction of major sports franchises in the NA LCS, as well as well-funded teams like OpTic Gaming, there are now four teams looking to build new squads from scratch. It’s likely that these teams will look for top talent worldwide, and Zven and Mithy are on the radar of many organizations.

Zven and Mithy joined G2 Esports during the 2015 EU LCS Summer Split after playing for Origen. Since then, they have become the best duo lane in the EU LCS and have won three titles with G2 Esports.
If Zven and Mithy leave G2, the team would need to rebuild their lineup in order to maintain their championship streak.
