G2 emerges victorious in intense battle against DAMWON, progresses to Worlds semifinals

G2 Esports Secures Spot in 2019 Worlds Semifinals

G2 Esports has earned a spot in the semifinals of the 2019 World Championship after a fierce battle with DAMWON Gaming from the LCK. They will now face SK Telecom T1, led by the legendary Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok.

Luka “Perkz” Perković, returning to his traditional AD carry role, delivered impressive performances that led his team to victory. Whether playing Xayah or Kai’Sa, Perkz dominated the DAMWON roster and ended the series with a 61.3 percent kill participation percentage. He was awarded Player of the Series honors as a result.

DAMWON also played well, but G2 consistently pushed the tempo throughout the series. Even in the game that DAMWON won, they were hesitant to engage fights when they were ahead. G2 made some mistakes as well, but they quickly recovered. They will need to iron out these issues before facing SKT.

The mechanical prowess of G2 was on full display. Caps performed exceptionally in the mid lane, and Jankos was efficient in the jungle, providing momentum to the side lanes. These plays set G2 up for success.

Upcoming Explosive Rematch

G2 and SKT are set to clash in an explosive rematch. After SKT’s loss to G2 in the semifinals of MSI 2019, they will be seeking revenge. Fans can catch all the action on Sunday, November 3 at 5am CT.
