G2 Defies Expectations by Maintaining Perfect Streak at MSI 2022, Showcases Impressive Teamfighting against RNG

G2 Esports Surprises Fans with Strong Performance at Mid-Season Invitational

In a surprising turn of events, G2 Esports has emerged as a strong contender for the championship at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. After defeating both T1 and Royal Never Give Up in the rumble stage, the team has gained a significant following of fans.

G2’s Dominant Performance Against Royal Never Give Up

G2’s confidence was high heading into their matchup against Royal Never Give Up after their comeback victory against the LCK champions. By strategically banning Bin’s undefeated Gangplank, G2 felt comfortable allowing RNG two priority picks. They showcased an explosive team composition with Kai’Sa, Nautilus, Wukong, Vladimir, and Zoe, proving that they had an advantage.

G2’s Ability to Adapt and Excel

G2 is known for their strong mid-to-late game play, but in this match, they showcased their ability to keep up with RNG’s rapid style. They stayed competitive for the first 15 minutes and maintained an even gold balance. As the game progressed, G2’s teamfighting skills came into play, allowing them to outmaneuver RNG across the map.

G2’s players, such as Caps on Zoe, Flakked with precise positioning, and Broken Blade absorbing damage as Vladimir, demonstrated their deep understanding of the current meta and excellent drafting skills.

Pressure Mounts for Royal Never Give Up

In contrast, Royal Never Give Up struggled to keep up as G2 gained momentum in the mid-to-late game. Xiaohu’s attempts to flank as Ahri were unsuccessful, resulting in multiple times being caught out. Despite Gwen’s Hallowed Mist ability, Bin was quickly bursted down upon diving in. G2 had more control over initiating fights and setting the pace of the game.

G2’s Impressive Winning Streak

G2’s victory against RNG marks their 23rd consecutive win, starting from their lower bracket run. They will face Evil Geniuses and Saigon Buffalo next, aiming to continue their dominant performance in the tournament.

Stay tuned to watch G2 in action on Saturday at 3am CT.
