From Academy MVP to Azir support, 100T Busio aims to make a lasting impact in the LCS

Busio Makes his LCS Debut with 100 Thieves

During the 2023 LCS Spring Split, 100 Thieves made an unconventional pick for their support role. Instead of choosing a traditional support champion, they locked in Azir, a mid-lane champion, for their newest player, Alan “Busio” Cwalina. This surprising strategy was a calculated move to counter their opponents, Cloud9.

Busio, along with Milan “Tenacity” Oleksij, joined the 100 Thieves main roster as part of the team’s overhaul. They joined experienced players Can “Closer” Çelik, Bjergsen, and the highly-anticipated return of Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.

As a rookie, Busio acknowledged the pressure of playing alongside such accomplished teammates but remained focused on giving his best performance. He recognized that he needed time to adjust to the LCS stage and the expectations placed on him.

Busio has been a part of the 100 Thieves program for several years, progressing through the ranks from the amateur team to the Academy roster and finally the LCS squad. He has been known for his unconventional support picks and outstanding performances in tournaments.

By choosing champions like Nasus and Rumble in the support role, Busio aimed to surprise his opponents and gain an advantage. He believed that picking something unexpected could instantly win a game if the enemy team was unfamiliar with how to play against it.

Joining the 100 Thieves LCS roster has been a smooth transition for Busio. He felt comfortable with the team, the staff, and the environment, especially with Tenacity by his side as a trusted teammate.

Despite the loss in his debut match, Busio remains optimistic about the future. He is determined to find his groove within the team and contribute to their success. He plans to be more aggressive and punish opponents, pushing for a more dominant playstyle.

Busio will continue to showcase his skills and deep champion pool as he aims for his first LCS win against Immortals.
