FPX dominates OMG as GimGoon returns to the starting lineup

FunPlus Phoenix Defeats Oh My God 2-0 in LPL

In an impressive comeback, FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) emerged victorious against Oh My God (OMG) with a 2-0 sweep in the LPL. This match also marked the return of top laner GimGoon to the team.

FPX’s Dominant Performance

GimGoon showcased his skills in both of FPX’s wins. While OMG initially had the upper hand in the first game, FPX didn’t falter. Despite facing pressure, FPX made strategic plays across the map. Their superior mechanics and positioning allowed them to secure a crucial mid-game teamfight, turning the tide in their favor.

Methodical Play and Snowballing

In the second game, FPX opted for a more cautious approach. They played it safe and focused on maintaining small leads through objectives and tower plates. Eventually, FPX forced a teamfight, emerging victorious and snowballing their advantage. OMG couldn’t keep up and suffered defeat.

Successful Return for GimGoon

GimGoon’s return to the top lane was a resounding success. In the first game, playing as Gangplank, he achieved a scoreline of 3/5/10. In the second game, as Renekton, he went 1/1/8. FPX’s mid laner Doinb also had a standout performance with a 6/0/8 scoreline on Galio.

With this win, FPX has moved up to eighth place in the 2020 LPL Summer Split standings, holding a 6-6 record.

GimGoon’s Comeback

GimGoon’s return to the top lane for FPX comes after the team utilized former T1 top laner Khan in the first half of the Summer Split. GimGoon’s previous appearance was during FPX’s loss to JDG in the 2020 LPL Spring Split playoffs.
