Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song Departs FunPlus Phoenix After Four Years
Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song, the support player for FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), has officially left the organization after a successful tenure of four years.
During his time with FPX, which began in December 2017, the 23-year-old player played a crucial role in the team’s achievements. He contributed to FPX’s victory at the LPL Summer in September 2019 and their subsequent triumph at the Worlds Championship later that year. Although their performance in 2020 wasn’t as impressive, in 2021, FPX came close to clinching two LPL championships, finishing as runners-up on both occasions.
FPX bid farewell to Crisp through a heartwarming message that acknowledged his hard work and dedication to the team. They praised him for proving himself as one of the best supports in the league, and expressed gratitude for his standout performances and achievements under FPX’s banner.
Crisp’s departure marks the exit of four players from FPX’s Worlds 2021 roster, where the team had a disappointing run, falling out in the group stage and finishing joint-14th. Previously, top laner Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon, mid laner Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang, and jungle Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang had also left the LPL team.
As of now, bot laner Lin “Lwx” Wei-Xiang is the only remaining player in FPX’s active lineup, and he is the sole representative from the organization’s original League roster. FPX has yet to announce any new signings for the upcoming 2022 season.
