Former top laner of GAM Esports, Zeros, receives permanent ban from VCS following alleged COVID-19 joke during livestream.

Former GAM Esports Top Laner Zeros Permanently Banned from Vietnam Championship Series

Zeros, a former top laner for GAM Esports, has received a permanent ban from the Vietnam Championship Series. This comes after he made inappropriate comments about COVID-19 during one of his livestreams. The league made the announcement today, stating that Zeros’ statements on his personal stream were deemed detrimental to the best interests of the league. This violates Rule 8.2.5 of the Code of Conduct, resulting in his immediate ban.

Zeros’ Controversial Comments

The controversy arose when Zeros expressed his wish for the COVID-19 situation to worsen in Vietnam. He hoped that the VCS winner wouldn’t be able to attend the upcoming 2021 Mid-Season Invitational. This information was revealed through a translation posted by the social media executive of Saigon Buffalo. Zeros and SBTC Esports narrowly missed the playoffs this season and finished in fifth place with a 7-7 record.

Zeros’ Career and Achievements

Zeros is well-known in the esports community, particularly for his time with GAM Esports and Phong Vũ Buffalo. Throughout his three-year career, he has won three VCS championships and participated in the 2019 World Championship. However, his team was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage, finishing last in their group.

The 2021 VCS Spring Split playoffs are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 10th. The favorites going into the playoffs are GAM Esports, who finished the regular season with an impressive 13-1 record.
