Former star teammates to clash in LEC’s highly anticipated match of the week: Vitality versus Fnatic

Fnatic vs. Team Vitality: A Clash of European League of Legends Superstars

This past offseason, the European League of Legends scene witnessed a major shift as superstar players switched teams, seeking greener pastures in different organizations for 2022. Two teams that went through significant roster changes were Fnatic and Team Vitality. Now, they are set to face off in the second round robin of the Spring Split as the LEC’s match of the week.

Team Vitality had a rocky start to the year, losing all three of their opening matches in a disappointing fashion. However, since then, this star-studded lineup has only dropped one game and is currently tied for fourth place with Misfits Gaming and MAD Lions. They have shown the potential to live up to the high expectations set upon them at the beginning of the season.

Apart from their initial struggle in the first week, which can be attributed to finding their stride and building synergy, Team Vitality has performed as one of the top three teams in the league. They boast impressive statistics, ranking among the top three in terms of team KDA, average gold difference at 15 minutes, and overall Baron control rate percentage, according to Oracle’s Elixir.

On the other hand, Fnatic has been an interesting team to follow during the spring. They have excelled in the early game, holding the second-highest average gold difference at the 15-minute mark. However, they have struggled to close out games, resulting in losses in three of their last four matches against Rogue, G2 Esports, and Excel. It’s worth noting that the race for the top of the league has been highly competitive, except for Rogue’s dominant 9-0 start.

With Humanoid and Wunder facing Carzzy and Perkz once again, League of Legends fans are eager to see how a relatively in-form Team Vitality will fare against a struggling Fnatic team. This matchup is crucial for Team Vitality to even out the head-to-head record and establish their standing among the top teams in the league as the playoffs draw near.

The 2022 LEC Spring Split will resume tomorrow, February 11. Don’t miss out on the Vitality vs. Fnatic showdown on Saturday, February 12 at 2pm CT.
