Former LEC bottom laner Hjarnan takes on new role as assistant coach for Team Vitality

Team Vitality Extends Coach Hjarnan’s Contract

Coach Petter “Hjarnan” Freyschuss has signed a contract extension with Team Vitality and will also take on the role of assistant coach for the 2022 LEC Summer Split, according to an announcement by the organization. Hjarnan, a former LEC bottom laner, joined Vitality as a positional coach last month and will now be a full-time member of the coaching staff, working alongside head coach Louis-Victor “Mephisto” Legendre.

Continuing Success at Vitality

Hjarnan played in the LEC from 2014 to 2019, representing Europe in two World Championships. He gained recognition for his exceptional performance on Heimerdinger, posting a perfect 9-0 record and a 20.8 KDA in 2018, as per League stats site Games of Legends.

During his time at Vitality, Hjarnan has likely developed a close working relationship with the team’s current bottom laner, Carzzy. The 20-year-old player recently signed a three-year contract with Vitality and will be entering his second split with the team in the upcoming summer season.

Looking Ahead

Team Vitality’s journey in the LEC Spring Split playoffs came to an end in the second round of the lower bracket, following a defeat against G2 Esports. The team will now focus on preparing for the LEC Summer Split, which is set to commence later this year.
