Former League of Legends pro Rush has successfully completed his mandatory military service: A triumphant return

Popular Streamer and Former Pro Player Rush Completes South Korean Military Service

Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae, a well-known streamer and former professional player in the game League of Legends, recently announced that he has completed his time in the South Korean military.

In a social media post on May 29, Rush expressed that he didn’t gain much from his military service. He listed what he felt he lost during his time, including his “humanity” and his skills in League of Legends. However, if you check out his solo queue account on the Korean server by visiting this link: [insert link to his solo queue account], you’ll see that he’s already back to grinding the ranked ladder and has reached Diamond 2 at the time of writing.

During his professional career, Rush played as a jungler. And now, in solo queue, he’s returning to his familiar position. This season, he has been playing champions like Kindred, Taliyah, and his iconic Lee Sin.

A Brief Look at Rush’s Career

Rush gained popularity with North American audiences as a player and streamer. In 2015, he competed in the LCS and reached the playoffs of both the Spring and Summer Splits with Team Impulse. He also received the MVP award during the second split of that year.

Afterwards, he joined Cloud9’s academy team but took an 18-month break from competitive gaming. He made a return to professional play in the 2018 Spring Split as a jungler for KT Rolster. He then moved back to North America to play for Echo Fox. Following a disappointing 2019 season, he retired once again and transitioned into becoming a streamer and content creator for CLG. On November 30, 2020, he joined the military to complete the mandatory service in Korea.

Rush’s Comeback to Solo Queue

Rush is back in the spotlight in the League of Legends community as he resumes his journey in solo queue. Despite the challenges he faced during his military service, he’s back to doing what he loves – playing on the ranked ladder and entertaining his fans.
