Forever underestimating: Anticipating the LCS performance at Worlds 2019.

North America has always struggled in the League of Legends World Championship. Previous performances have led to doubt and disappointment from fans worldwide.

Every LCS fan has experienced the dread of inevitable failure, time and time again.

Last year, Cloud9 reached the semifinals of Worlds 2018, giving North American fans a glimmer of hope. Now, trust in North American teams is slowly being rebuilt.

Cause a little chaos

As the third seed from NA, Clutch Gaming is considered an underdog at Worlds 2019. However, they have the potential to surprise top-tier teams with their aggressive playstyle.

Clutch Gaming’s success relies heavily on their top side players, Huni and Lira. Huni’s killer instinct and Lira’s support in the mid lane will be crucial. However, their inconsistency might be a downfall.

The heroes NA needs

Cloud9 has consistently performed well at Worlds and has become NA’s last hope. Despite being underestimated, they consistently outperform expectations. They don’t need fanfare, just the opportunity to play their game.

Break the cycle

Team Liquid has built a strong roster, dominated the LCS, and even reached the finals at MSI 2019. Now, they need to break the cycle of disappointment at Worlds and have a successful run.
