FNC Nemesis Criticizes Pro View: “Riot’s Decision Harms Skilled Pro Players”

Pro View: Fnatic’s Nemesis expresses disagreement with Riot Games’ new streaming tool

Fnatic’s Nemesis disagrees with Riot Games’ Pro View

Riot Games recently launched Pro View, a new esports streaming tool for professional League of Legends matches. Despite positive fan reviews, Fnatic’s mid laner Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek expressed his disagreement with the tool during a Twitch live stream.

“Now that Riot released the Pro View stream, or whatever its called, I will be streaming much more because I see no point of not streaming anymore, since everyone can see how I play anyway,” Nemesis said on stream. “It’s like one of the worst things that Riot could do to pro players that are good.”

What is Pro View?

Riot first announced Pro View in May. Fans can buy the feature from the LoL Esports website to view matches from their home region for $14.99. An all-access version of the tool is available for $19.99 to watch pro League matches from around the world. The revenue generated from Pro View directly supports the competing teams and players.

Key features of Pro View

Pro View provides point of view streams for each of the 10 professional players in a match. Fans can watch up to four synchronized streams during live games and through VODs. The tool also offers an advanced timeline of each match, displaying kills and tower takedowns throughout the game. Additionally, fans can share a personalized URL with friends to watch matches together from the same perspectives.

Limitations of Pro View

While players’ in-game actions are visible to anyone with Pro View, their microphones will remain muted. Viewers cannot hear calls and pro players are unable to explain their actions, jungle paths, or thought processes to their audience during the game, unlike their casual Twitch streams.

European fans can try out Pro View when the LEC returns on June 7 with a match between G2 Esports and Splyce at 11am CT.
