Fnatic’s Close Call: After Defeating G2, Excel Almost Pull Off Upset

Fnatic Secures First Place in LEC

Fnatic achieved a significant victory over MSI champion G2 Esports, propelling them to the top of the LEC standings. The win showcased the club’s determination to reclaim their European title.

A Challenging Match Against Excel Esports

However, in today’s match against Excel Esports, Fnatic initially struggled and made several mistakes, allowing their opponents to secure multiple kills. Just when it seemed like Fnatic was in trouble, their bot lane duo, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson and Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov, made a strong comeback, keeping Fnatic undefeated.

Mid Laner Nemesis’ Struggles

One of the main reasons for Fnatic’s setbacks was their young mid laner, Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek. Nemesis was outplayed in a one-on-one encounter with Excel top laner Ki “Expect” Dae-han’s Poppy, a champion he was unfamiliar with. Additionally, he fell victim to a three-man mid lane gank. It was evident that Nemesis needed more experience and knowledge to handle such situations.

Fighting Back Against the Odds

Fnatic faced even more challenges when their top laner, Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau, also struggled and made mistakes. It seemed like Fnatic was falling into the trap of losing focus after a big win. However, they managed to turn the tides when Excel made crucial mistakes at the Baron pit and during a siege. Rekkles and Hylissang refused to give up and fought back in a two-vs-four situation, completely changing the outcome of the game.

With this impressive win, Fnatic solidified their position at the top of the standings. However, they still have room for improvement before being considered the best team in the region. G2 and Splyce also showcased their strong performances today, indicating that Fnatic has tough competition ahead.
