Fnatic’s Challenges Deepen as G2 Dominates Their LEC Rivals

Fnatic’s Rekkles Struggles to Find Victory in LEC Winter Split

After a heavy defeat against G2 Esports, superstar LEC marksman Rekkles has yet to secure a win with Fnatic in the 2023 Winter Split. Tomorrow, the team will have one more opportunity to come out on top when they go head-to-head with MAD Lions.

G2’s Focus on Bottom Lane Secures Victory

From the very beginning of the match, G2 directed their efforts towards the bottom lane, providing extensive support and resources to their new AD carry, Hans sama. In the opening five minutes, rookie jungler Yike executed a perfectly timed gank, resulting in two early kills for Hans sama. This proved to be enough to snowball the game and secure the win for G2.

Rekkles’ Struggles in the Winter Split

Rekkles has faced challenges in making an impact during his first two games with Fnatic, accumulating only four kills and three assists to go along with six deaths. According to statistics compiled by Oracle’s Elixir, he currently has the second-lowest kill participation and the lowest average gold difference at 15 minutes among all players in the LEC.

Additionally, Rekkles has dealt the lowest amount of damage compared to other LEC marksmen. It has undeniably been a disappointing start to Rekkles’ return to the league. However, with the immense talent on Fnatic’s roster, it is only a matter of time before they find the playstyle that complements their individual abilities.

Finding Synergy and Cohesion

Currently, Fnatic is struggling to achieve the same level of synergy and cohesion they had in 2022. Rekkles is also playing alongside Rhuckz, who is making his debut as an LEC starter this year. The team must establish a strong foundation in order to stay competitive and prevent the season from slipping away.

Notably, this is the first time Fnatic has started a season without a win in the opening week since 2019. In that year, the league did not hold three-day weeks, and Fnatic suffered losses against SK Gaming and Origen. The team consisted of players such as Bwipo, Broxah, Nemesis, Rekkles, and Hylissang.
