Fnatic Emerges as the Top Western Team

Heading into MSI: Fnatic’s Journey to Success

Fnatic, a team once underestimated by top analysts due to their lackluster performance in the EU LCS Finals, has proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with at MSI. Let’s take a look back at how their story unfolded, starting from the season 5 spring split.

Rebuilding almost from scratch, Fnatic retained YellowStar, widely regarded as the best support in EU at the time, who had plans to retire after Worlds. They scouted two Korean players, Huni and Reignover. With Reignover’s fluency in English and Korean, he was able to translate for Huni. Feviben, who had already qualified for the LCS with H2k, joined Fnatic regardless of their qualification, having played a significant role in H2k’s success during the Expansion tournament. Steeleback, handpicked by YellowStar, was contacted to Duo queue. The team was assembled just two weeks before the LCS, yet they were already finding great success in scrims.

Fearsome Teamwork and Aggression

Having watched all of Fnatic’s games, I was thoroughly impressed by their incredible team synergy, surpassing that of many NA teams. Let me share with you some of my favorite games showcasing Fnatic’s aggressive playstyle this split:

– Fnatic vs EL:

– Fnatic vs ROC:

– Fnatic vs H2K:

After watching these highlight videos, I highly recommend checking out all of Fnatic’s games this split. They play as a cohesive unit, relentlessly taking fights to their opponents, even managing to win two games against SKT T1. If Fnatic recruits a top-tier ADC, they will undoubtedly be strong contenders for the World Championship this season.
