Exciting Opening Match: SK Gaming vs Fnatic in European League of Legends Championship Series
The European League of Legends Championship Series kicks off this week with an exhilarating match between SK Gaming and Fnatic. These two teams, who had high expectations coming into the season, will face each other again after their intense Spring playoffs showdown.
SK Gaming has lived up to those expectations so far, currently sitting in second place with a commendable 6-2 record.
However, the real spotlight is on Fnatic, the reigning regional champions, who are struggling with a 4-4 record. This is one of their weakest starts in history, comparable only to their performance in the summer of 2013 when they benched support player Christoph “nRated” Seitz for sub Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim.
Seitz was subsequently picked up by SK Gaming and has proven himself as a top-notch player. Comparing their stats, Seitz has an 8 assist lead over Kim, demonstrating that he is playing at a professional level.
In their first matchup in week one, SK Gaming dominated the game. Now, they seem to have the upper hand once again. They have a better average KDA, higher gold income, and more consistent objective control compared to Fnatic.
However, there is one significant factor that could turn the tides in this match. The marksman matchup between SK Gaming’s Adrian “Candy Panda” Wübbelmann and Fnatic’s rising star, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, is much closer than it seems. As the game goes on, Wübbelmann tends to fall behind while Larsson only gets stronger. If this trend continues, Fnatic might just pull off an upset victory.
Despite their mediocre start in week one, Fnatic has shown improvement in their gameplay. They will not easily accept another loss to SK Gaming. With Larsson at the helm, we predict that Fnatic will convincingly win this match, which is expected to be a long and intense battle.
