Fnatic Academy moves up to EU LCS

Fnatic Academy Secures Spot in EU LCS with Dominant Win over Giants Gaming

Fnatic Academy has solidified their position in the EU LCS after a convincing victory against Giants Gaming. Despite a loss in the previous round of the Promotion Tournament against Misfits Academy, Fnatic Academy showcased their skills in a clean 3-0 sweep.

The match showcased Fnatic Academy’s strong macro play across all three games. They capitalized on Giants’ mistakes and took advantage of every objective secured by their opponents. Even when Giants managed to secure an objective, Fnatic Academy quickly turned the tides with their superior gameplay.

In game two, Giants made questionable choices by focusing on Fnatic’s support player, Johan “Klaj” Olsson. This strategy backfired as it allowed Fnatic’s damage dealers to dismantle the Giants team, ultimately contributing to Giants’ loss.

Part of Fnatic Academy’s success can be attributed to their respect for Giants. They never overextended and played patiently, focusing on taking objectives such as towers and inhibitors before backing off to secure the Baron without risking a counter-attack from Giants.

Giants’ defeat in this matchup means they will be relegated to the EU Challenger Series for the next split, alongside Origen.

It’s worth noting that organizations are not permitted to have two LCS teams, so Fnatic will have to sell one spot. This could result in some roster changes as Fnatic aims to assemble the best team for the upcoming season.

With this victory, Fnatic Academy joins Misfits Academy in the EU LCS, who defeated them in a previous match.
