FlyQuest welcomes new starting support, a 3-time LCS champion, for Summer Split

FlyQuest Adds Veteran Support Vulcan to Roster for 2023 LCS Summer Split

FlyQuest, the League of Legends team, has made a major roster move following their close miss on an international appearance in the Spring Split. They have introduced veteran support player Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme as a starter for the upcoming 2023 LCS Summer Split.

The support position has seen a lot of changes for FlyQuest during the first half of the season. Originally, they intended for Bill “Eyla” Ngyuen to fill the role in 2023, but issues with his visa forced them to start Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon instead. After finding more success with Winsome, the starting support position became complicated. However, FlyQuest has now parted ways with Eyla and Vulcan will take over for the second half of the year.

It is expected that Winsome will remain on the roster in a backup role, as FlyQuest has chosen to participate in the NACL this summer. The team’s decision to join the developmental league comes after Riot Games made it optional for LCS teams.

Despite rumors of Vulcan potentially leaving for the LEC and signing with Achieveminds, the veteran player will stay with FlyQuest for the rest of the 2023 season. However, his contract is set to expire at the end of the season unless the team decides to re-sign him. Vulcan will make his debut with FlyQuest when the Summer Split begins on June 1st.
