FlyQuest secures LCS playoff berth by defeating Team Liquid

FlyQuest Bounces Back with Perfect Week and Playoff Spot

FlyQuest secured their playoff spot after a stunning comeback with a perfect week in the LCS. They managed to defeat Team Liquid, the best team in the league, despite experiencing four consecutive losses.

FlyQuest faced a challenging situation in their match against Team Liquid during the 2019 LCS Spring Split. After a faltering start, they were able to turn the game around and hand Team Liquid their second loss of the split.

Early on, Liquid jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero dominated FlyQuest’s jungler, Lucas “Santorin” Larsen. Xmithie gained an advantage by solo-killing Santorin’s Skarner during an invasion attempt, which propelled Team Liquid to a significant lead. It seemed like Team Liquid was on their way to securing their 15th win.

However, FlyQuest made a comeback during a Baron fight. FlyQuest’s AD carry, Jason “WildTurtle” Tran, made a remarkable play as Ezreal, leaping out of the pit to kill Xmithie and prevent Team Liquid from contesting the Baron.

In a post-game interview, WildTurtle expressed his satisfaction, stating, “It feels just like all our practice paid off. We worked extremely hard to get to where we are now after going 0-4, so I’m extremely proud of all my teammates, coaching staff, and everyone at FlyQuest.”

Although they initially failed to close out the game with the first Baron, FlyQuest secured their victory minutes later with a second Baron fight that completely wiped out Team Liquid.

As they head into the playoffs, WildTurtle is uncertain about FlyQuest’s potential but remains optimistic. He said, “I’m still unsure of our team’s potential. I’m just down to play every game and have fun with the rest of the split.”

FlyQuest’s next match will be against Cloud9 on March 23.
