Flame joins Immortals, replacing Huni

Legendary Korean Top Laner Joins North American Team

Considered a legend for his performances in Korea, one of the most famous top laners in the history of League of Legends is heading to North America.

Immortals had the difficult task of replacing their franchise player Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, who was offered a spot on the starting roster of reigning world champions SK Telecom T1 just days after re-signing with the team. However, Immortals’ second choice for the top lane is far from disappointing.

Lee “Flame” Ho-jong, who has competed since 2012 with teams like CJ Entus Blaze and LGD, has been chosen as the new addition to the Immortals’ roster. Flame has had to sit out of competing regularly for nearly two years due to being benched for the majority of his time on LGD. Even after leaving China in 2016 to join Longzhu in Korea, Flame continued to ride the bench in favor of his former team mate Koo “Expession” Bon-taek.

The addition of Flame to the roster completes the Immortals’ lineup for the 2017 North American Spring Split, with the only position left to be filled being the support player. Currently, the roster consists of Flame, highly-touted jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park, and newly recruited AD carry Cody Sun.

Despite his efficiency and raw skill in the game, Flame has surprisingly never achieved a major tournament victory in his homeland. Perhaps he will find more luck in the North American League Championship Series.
