Fan-made Vladimir Visual and Ability Rework Showcases Artist’s Talent

Vladimir’s Fan-Made Rework Generates Excitement Among the League of Legends Community

The champion Vladimir has been a topic of debate among the League of Legends community. Despite receiving some minor updates in 2016, he has not undergone a complete visual or mechanical rework since his release in 2010.

A fan-made redesign of Vladimir has garnered a lot of attention and praise from the community. The redesign showcases impressive design work that seamlessly fits into the game’s current state.

A New Vision for Vladimir by Concept Artist Anthony Sun

Concept artist and illustrator Anthony Sun has created a new vision for Vladimir. He completely overhauled the champion, revamping his outdated visuals and giving him a new kit. In Sun’s rework, Vladimir transforms into an ancient mage who uses Crimson Harvesters to collect the blood of innocent victims.

These visuals draw inspiration from the Crimson Follower card group in Riot’s popular virtual card game, Legends of Runeterra. With a swooping collar, a blood-red color scheme, and a modernized costume design, Vladimir is brought up to date for the 2020 League of Legends world.

The Divisive Nature of Vladimir’s Reworked Kit

While the visual redesign received widespread admiration, Vladimir’s reworked kit did not receive the same level of approval from the League of Legends community. Some players felt that his abilities were too similar to those of other champions, like Swain and Nasus. Others had concerns about specific aspects of the kit, such as Vladimir’s ultimate granting him immunity from Grievous Wounds.

Despite the mixed reviews of his kit, Sun’s impressive work has ignited a desire among players for an official Vladimir rework in the future. Many League of Legends fans have voiced their frustration with older champions being left behind in terms of both their abilities and visual design when compared to newer champions.

Riot’s Efforts to Update Older Champions

Although Vladimir may not receive this exact redesign, Riot Games has begun updating older champions to ensure they can compete with the newer champions in the game. Champions like Fiddlesticks have already undergone major updates, and Volibear is next in line for a revamp.

This ongoing effort aims to balance the game and provide a more enjoyable experience for players, regardless of the champion they choose to play.
